All Things Made New

Scripture: 2 Corinthians 5:17

“Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.”
2 Corinthians 5:17 KJV

Paul wrote these words to a church that knew him well and doubted him often. Some in Corinth judged people by outward things, how impressive they looked, how well they spoke. Paul says he no longer sees anyone that way. Since Christ died and rose again, a whole new way of seeing has begun.

“If any man be in Christ, he is a new creature.” Paul doesn’t say we’ve been touched up or handed a second try at the same old life. He says something new has been created. The God who spoke light into the darkness at the beginning has done a fresh work of creation in us.

That doesn’t mean every old habit vanishes overnight. Most of us still carry memories we’d rather forget and patterns we’re still unlearning. But our past no longer gets to name us. The record that once defined us was settled at the cross, and what God is building now is what will last.

Paul tucks in a small word worth lingering over: “behold.” Look. See it. Let’s take a quiet moment to notice one place where God has already been making things new in us, a softer heart, a broken habit, a hope we didn’t used to have. As this week begins, we can start right there.

Prayer

Lord, thank You that in Christ I am not who I used to be. When my past tries to tell me who I am, remind me of the new thing You have made. Open my eyes to see Your work in me, and help me walk in it this week. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
