A Wall That Holds

“And I will make thee unto this people a fenced brasen wall: and they shall fight against thee, but they shall not prevail against thee: for I am with thee to save thee and to deliver thee, saith the LORD.”
Jeremiah 15:20

Encouragement

Jeremiah had a hard calling. People mocked him, plotted against him, and refused to listen. In the verses just before this one, he pours out his hurt to God with real honesty. God doesn’t promise that the opposition will stop: “they shall fight against thee.” But He promises to make Jeremiah like a bronze wall, something that stays standing when it’s pushed against. That strength isn’t Jeremiah’s own. It comes from God’s presence with him. When we feel worn down by resistance, we can lean on the One who keeps us on our feet.

Something to Ponder

Where are we facing pushback right now, and how might it change things to remember that God is standing with us?

Prayer

Lord, some days I feel more like a crumbling fence than a strong wall. Hold me up. Thank You for being with me, and for the deliverance You promise. Steady me so I can stand firm and stay kind. Amen.
