Alive to Tell It
“I shall not die, but live, and declare the works of the LORD.”

Encouragement
Psalm 118 was sung by worshipers on their way to the temple, and it carries the voice of someone who has come through real danger. A few verses earlier the writer says his enemies swarmed around him like bees. He was pushed hard and nearly fell, but the Lord helped him, and now he sings, “I shall not die, but live.” He doesn’t stop at surviving, though. He wants to live so he can tell others what God has done. As this week winds down, we can look back and count the ways God carried us. Those stories are worth passing along to someone who needs hope.

Prayer
Lord, thank You for carrying me through this week, and through so much before it. Give me courage to tell others what You’ve done, so they can trust You too. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
