Light Along the Way
“Light is sown for the righteous, and gladness for the upright in heart.”
Psalm 97:11
Encouragement
This psalm opens with clouds and darkness around God’s throne, with fire and lightning. It’s a big, unsettling picture. Then, near the end, comes this gentle line. Light is “sown” for those who belong to Him, scattered ahead like seed in a field. We may not see all of it yet, but it has been planted, and it will come up. By Friday many of us are tired, and the week may have felt darker than we hoped. The light hasn’t been forgotten. God has already scattered it along the path in front of us.
Something to Ponder
Where have we caught a glimpse of God’s light this week, even in a small way?
Prayer
Lord, thank You for going ahead of me and scattering light on my path. When things feel dark, remind me that gladness is already on its way. Amen.
