Room to Grow
“And Jesus increased in wisdom and stature, and in favour with God and man.”
Luke 2:52
Encouragement
Luke tells us very little about Jesus’ childhood. After the story of the boy in the temple, he gives us one quiet sentence that covers about eighteen years. Jesus grew. He became wiser and taller, and more loved by God and by the people around Him. It’s a comfort to know that the Son of God didn’t skip the slow, ordinary work of growing up. Still growing isn’t the same as failing; it’s simply how God made us. On an ordinary Tuesday, we can ask Him to stretch us a little in wisdom, in strength, and in love.
Something to Ponder
Where do we sense God inviting us to grow right now: in wisdom, in body, in closeness to Him, or in our relationships?
Prayer
Lord Jesus, thank You for walking the slow road of growing up. Be patient with me as I grow. Make me wiser and kinder, and draw me closer to You and to the people You’ve given me. Amen.
