Set Apart
“And I will put a division between my people and thy people: to morrow shall this sign be.”
Exodus 8:23
Encouragement
Egypt was in the middle of the plagues when God made this promise to Pharaoh. Swarms of flies were coming, but not into Goshen, where His people lived. Israel hadn’t earned this protection. They were slaves, worn out and full of doubt. The difference came from God’s choosing, not from their strength. We live in a world where trouble touches everyone, and belonging to God doesn’t mean we’re spared every hardship. Even so, He marks us as His own. He sees where we live, He knows our names, and He keeps us in ways we may not recognize until much later.
Something to Ponder
Where have we seen God’s protective care mark our lives as His, even in small ways?
Prayer
Lord, thank You for calling me Your own. When trouble swirls around me, remind me that You see me and keep me. Help me live like someone who belongs to You. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
