Small Beginnings
“A little one shall become a thousand, and a small one a strong nation: I the LORD will hasten it in his time.”

Encouragement
Isaiah was speaking to people who felt few and weak, who looked at a ruined city and wondered whether anything good could come of it. God’s promise was surprising: the little one would become a thousand. Notice the last line, though. He will hasten it, but in His time. Most of what matters starts small: a single prayer, a struggling church, a friendship just beginning. We’re often tempted to measure things by how big they look today. God sees what they will become, and He knows exactly when to bring it about.
Something to Ponder
What small beginning in our lives might we be quick to dismiss, that God may be planning to grow?
Prayer
Lord, teach me not to despise small things. I trust You with the timing of what You’re growing in my life and in the lives around me. Give me patience to wait for Your time. Amen.
