Washed Clean

“Then will I sprinkle clean water upon you, and ye shall be clean: from all your filthiness, and from all your idols, will I cleanse you.”
Ezekiel 36:25

Encouragement

Ezekiel spoke to exiles far from home, many of them painfully aware of how they had ended up there. Their land lay in ruins, and their name among the nations was in tatters. Into that shame God spoke a fresh start: clean water, a thorough washing, freedom from the idols that had led them astray. He didn’t ask them to scrub themselves first. He said, “I will cleanse you.” By Friday, many of us have gathered a week’s worth of regrets: sharp words, missed chances, old habits that crept back in. We can bring every bit of it to Him. He has promised to make us clean, and He keeps His word.

Something to Ponder

What regret from this week can we hand to God and let Him wash away?

Prayer

Father, I come to You with the mess of this week. Wash me clean. Turn my heart from anything that has taken Your place, and give me a fresh start. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
